πŸ’‘ Emotional Intelligence – The right combo of heart and brain

Samarjay singh 0

Hey friends! 😊

Today we are going to talk about a topic which is very useful in life, but we are not taught properly in school-college – Emotional Intelligence.

1️⃣ What is this?

Look, everyone knows IQ (Intelligence Quotient) – it means how sharp the brain is, maths, logic, GK etc.

But EQ i.e. Emotional Quotient is a little different.

It tells that –

How well you understand your and others’ feelings

How do you handle those feelings

Anger, sadness, happiness, tension – the right use and control of all this.

In simple, balance of heart + brain = EQ ❀️🧠

2️⃣ Why is this important?

Friend, only studies are not enough in life.

Suppose you are very studious, but are not able to talk to anyone properly, or get angry on small things – then people will stay away from you.

What happens with Emotional Intelligence is that:

Relationships become better

Productivity increases in work

Confidence comes

Stress reduces

Leadership skills grow πŸ’ͺ

3️⃣ 5 big pillars of EQ

A psychologist named Daniel Goleman had told the 5 pillars of EQ. Let’s understand in simple language –

πŸ“ (1) Self-Awareness

Means recognizing your mood, emotions and their reason.

Example – If you are getting angry, then instead of just getting angry, think about why it is happening, and how to control it.

πŸ“ (2) Self-Regulation

It is easy to say the wrong thing in anger, but a person with EQ reacts thoughtfully.

Example – Boss scolded you? Instead of immediately speaking back, calm down and think what can be improved.

πŸ“ (3) Motivation

Motivation that comes from within more than money, fame or name.

Example – Working hard for your own goals without any pressure.

πŸ“ (4) Empathy

Thinking by putting yourself in someone’s place.

Example – If a friend is sad, listen to him and understand, don’t just start your topic.

πŸ“ (5) Social Skills

Listening well, clear communication, teamwork – all these are parts of EQ.

Example – Completing a project in the office with the teams.

4️⃣ EQ vs IQ – What is more important in life?

With IQ you can solve problems, do maths, but with EQ you can win people’s hearts.

In today’s world EQ β‰₯ IQ, because people connect only through emotions.

Leaders like Steve Jobs, Ratan Tata led not only with their minds but also with their hearts ❀️

5️⃣ Ways to increase EQ πŸ’‘

βœ… (1) Practice Mindfulness 🧘

Meditate for 5-10 minutes every day, focus on your breathing. This increases self-awareness.

βœ… (2) Listen before judging

Listen to people completely, then give your opinion.

βœ… (3) Write down your feelings ✍️

Write in your diary what made you happy, sad or angry today.

βœ… (4) Learn to pause ⏸️

If an emotional situation arises, do not react immediately. Take a breath for 10 seconds, then respond.

βœ… (5) Think from others’ point of view

If you have an argument with someone, put yourself in his place and think.

6️⃣ Magic of EQ in real life ✨

πŸ“Œ In office – teamwork, good relations, stress handling

πŸ“Œ In friendship – less misunderstandings, more trust

πŸ“Œ In relationships – strong bond with the habit of listening and understanding

πŸ“Œ In studies – focus and motivation

7️⃣ Side effects of low EQ 😬

If EQ is low then:

Quarrels over small things

More stress

Less friends, more enemies

Lack of self-control

8️⃣ Identity of people with high EQ 🌟

Calm and positive

Good at listening

Balance even in difficult times

Inspiring people

9️⃣ Final Thought πŸ’

Friends, Emotional Intelligence is not something that is given by birth, it can be learned by practice. The more you understand your own and others’ emotions, the easier and happier life will be.

So, give equal space to both – heart and mind ❀️🧠
